About Autism Centers of Michigan
Formerly BEST for Autism, founded in April 2012, the Autism Center of Northern Michigan opened in March of 2013 and is serving families in Northern Michigan. The following year the Autism Center of Central Michigan opened in Midland, MI with the intention of providing the same exceptional service to the Central Michigan region.
Mission:
Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals and families impacted by Autism.
Practice:
*Pinpoint any behavioral concerns/deficits/excess through a Functional Assessment
*Analyze current performance and compare them to desired performance
*Recommend solutions based on performance gaps in order to achieve the best outcome
*Solve performance issues by using a data based process to achieve the most efficient skill acquisition and target behavior reduction
*Evaluate the solutions using an objective data analysis and make changes to programs when outcomes are not being met
Outreach:
We are reaching out to families to improve the lives of their loved ones with Autism. Our program takes place in-home and in the community so that our Behavior Analyst’s can provide solutions to everyday struggles. Our emphasis is on giving families the tools they need to help their loved one with Autism succeed.
Center-based:
Our center-based services enable us to better serve children affected by Autism. Our center-based programs include early intervention treatment for toddlers/preschoolers. We also use center-based services to build learning skills for children of all ages. We hope to offer social skills groups for multiple age groups soon.
