Governor Rick Snyder Appoints ACM’s Krista Boe to Michigan Autism Council

LANSING, MI, December 14, 2018 — Michigan Governor Rick Snyder announced that Krista Boe, Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Chief Clinical Officer of the Autism Centers of Michigan (ACM), has been appointed to the Michigan Autism Council, effective December 14, 2018. The Michigan Autism Council was created in 2012 as an advisory body to review, adopt and implement the Michigan Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) State Plan. Ms. Boe joins the twelve-members council as representative to the thousands of Certified Behavior Analyst practitioners across the state. Her initial term will run through September 30, 2021.

On December 3, 2018, Michigan Lt. Governor Brian Calley signed Executive Order 2018-12, further expanding and strengthening the implementation of the ASD State Plan. “We have come a long way in improving outcomes for Michiganders with autism but there is much more work to do and the Autism Council is instrumental in making sure the progress continues,” he said. “I’m so proud that Michigan is now a top 10 state for the number of behavioral analysts we have but there’s still a great need and strengthening the council will help continue to improve autism services in our state.”

“I’m thrilled for the opportunity to serve on Michigan’s Autism Council,” “Ms. Boe said. “To be selected from so many outstanding practitioners across the state is an incredible honor. ACM’s mission has always been to improve the lives of both individuals and families impacted by autism. This appointment provides an even broader platform to make a real difference for those in need.”
